These unique cats occurred in one line of Karma Farms' polydactyl bloodlines. This gene, which causes a condition called radial agenesis, seems to be recessive as opposed to the usual incompletely dominant gene which causes polydactylism. As the condition occurs in non-polys also, it is probably unrelated to polydactylism.
